Iwaji Ohuhu 2025: Ndi Eze Ohuhu Set to Honour Chief Moritz Abazie, Don Lulu, Dr. Uche Ogbuokiri, HRM Dr. John Onyema, Sam Hart, Others
The Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers has announced that the 2025 Iwaji Ohuhu Festival will hold on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Afugiri Primary School, Ohuhu, Umuahia.
In a release from the Chairman of the Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers and 2025 Iwaji Ndi Eze Ohuhu Committee, HRM Eze Charles Chionye Ngwuli, this year’s festival themed “Celebrating Ohuhu Culture of Gratitude, Culture, and Strength of Unity” will celebrate culture, and honour distinguished personalities with awards and chieftaincy titles.
Among the honourees are Chief Moritz Abazie, Port Harcourt–based businessman and Chairman of Strides Energy and Maritime Ltd; Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), entrepreneur, UN Mayor of Peace, and President of Don Media Group; and Dr. Uchenna Godson Ogbuokiri, US-based physician, philanthropist, and international businessman from Ohiya Ohuhu.
Also to be honoured is Dr. John Nkwachukwu Onyema, Eze-Elect of Umuhu Ancient Kingdom, who will receive the Royal Gold Award, Chief Sam Iheanyi Hart, Ugwu Ngwu of Isingwu, a lawyer, politician, administrator, and chancellor. He currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
- The event will be co-chaired Chief Onyema Ugochukwu and Chief Empire Kanu, and will feature cultural dances, masquerades, traditional music, and cuisine and promises to be a colourful celebration of Ohuhu pride and unity.
