The Ofeme Progressive Union Federated (OPUF) held a crucial and historic reconciliation meeting on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Umunkpu Hall, Ude Ofeme. In a landmark resolution, the union successfully unified two previously divided factions, forming one cohesive executive body that promises to work towards the development and progress of the Ofeme community.
The resolution was reached after a series of deliberations, marking the end of a long-standing division. High Chief Raymond Ofoegbu was unanimously affirmed as the President General of the newly harmonized body. Alongside him, Roland Aso Ejiogu emerged as the 1st Vice President General, while Chief Arthur Aso Agwamba was appointed as the 2nd Vice President General. The remaining executive positions were equitably shared in line with the existing bloc-sharing formula, ensuring fair representation of the diverse interests within Ndi Ofeme.
The meeting saw an impressive turnout, with numerous prominent sons and daughters of Ofeme in attendance. Among the distinguished guests were Royal High Chief Aguikwu Emma Ifeanyi, Chief Arthur Agwamba, Elder Amaechi Mike, Deacon Raymond Iweha, Ifeanyi Owoh, Chief Cosmos Ndukwu, Elder Ifeanyi Anozie (PG of Mbato Ofeme Autonomous Community), and Hon. Obioma Oburuoga. The event also saw the participation of several women leaders and various other stakeholders whose contributions were instrumental to the success of the meeting.
This historic moment signifies a new chapter for the OPUF and the entire Ofeme community, as the united executive body now moves forward with the collective aim of advancing the welfare and progress of the people.
The successful reconciliation of the two factions marks a positive turning point, as it sets the stage for collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges facing Ofeme, while fostering unity, peace, and growth among its members.
