PRESS RELEASE
Mazi Nnamdi Kanus conviction an assault to justice
……. Don’t dare Igbo Youths.
Yesterday the world was roused into a rude awakening, as the Nigeria state through her agents in the judiciary, yet again demonstrated her strong disinclination against the Igbo race.
Predictably, the judiciary handed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, what seem to be a verdict from hell.
In that judgement, the presiding judge, Justice Omoyosho, punctured common sense and turned the law on it’s head in the most brazen audacity.
Many Nigerians, and indeed all men of goodwill are wondering why Justice Omoyosho betrayed the spirit and letter of justice to hand Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Life sentence.
Almost on daily basis, thousands of Nigerians, are killed, kidnapped, or maimed, bandits and in far North, the ISWAP, Boko Haram and their enablers. Yet, the federal government threat them with presidential gloves.
For too long, Ndigbo have been victims of massive institutional attack. One of the most disturbing facts are the selective justice meted out to Ndigbo in all facets of our national life.
Yet, as traumatizing as all these, our greatest challenge today comes not from the Islamist terrorists in the North or even the equally barbaric savagery of separatists groups in the South East, but rather the compromise of our national security architecture.
We the Igbo Youths, believes that democracy rests on a core doctrine of justice, equity and fairness. The Nigeria State, their actions have declared Ndigbo as second class citizens, even though we remain law abiding.
The Nigeria State, should not dare us; unless they want to incarcerate all of us.
Therefore, we condemn in strong terms the judicial persecution of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, for merely asking for BIAFRA.
We admonish President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to exercise restraint and release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu immediately as his long years of incarceration and his excruciating trial remains a charade.
That is the only panacea for lasting peace and tranquility in South East.
Signed
Mazi Chika Art Adiele
National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing
