Ohuhu in Search of Better Governance: A Plea to Governor Otti
is ohuhu really in good books with the current governor of Abia state??
As the current administration of Governor Alex Otti continues to grapple with the challenges of governance in Abia State, ohuhu youth president argues if ohuhu people are really in good books with this current administration raising concerns about neglect and marginalization. Despite the community’s rich cultural heritage and significant contributions to the state’s economy, Ohuhu seems to be falling behind in terms of development.
Neglect in Road Construction
One of the major areas of concern is the deplorable state of roads in Ohuhu. The community’s leaders have accused Governor Otti’s administration of neglecting the road network, leaving residents to endure the consequences of poor infrastructure. In contrast, previous administrations have been praised for their efforts in constructing motorable culverts, rebuilding markets, and rehabilitating roads.
Lack of Smart Schools
Another area where Ohuhu is reportedly being neglected is in education. The community lacks smart schools, which are essential for providing quality education in today’s digital age. While Governor Otti’s administration has made efforts to revamp public schools in other parts of the state, Ohuhu seems to be left out of these initiatives.
Abandoned Farm Settlements
Ohuhu’s farm settlements, which are crucial to the community’s economic well-being, have also been neglected. The two farm settlements, which have the potential to boost agricultural production and improve food security, have reportedly been abandoned the government. This neglect has significant implications for the community’s economic development and food security.
General Neglect in Infrastructure
The neglect of infrastructure in Ohuhu is not limited to roads and schools. The community’s leaders have accused Governor Otti’s administration of general neglect, citing the lack of basic amenities such as electricity, healthcare facilities, and clean water. This neglect has made life difficult for residents, who are forced to rely on private providers for these essential services.
A Plea to Governor Otti
In light of these challenges, the Ohuhu community is urging Governor Otti to take immediate action to address their concerns. We need :
– Better road infrastructure to facilitate economic activity and improve access to social services
– Smart schools to provide quality education and equip our youth with the skills they need to compete in the global economy
– Support for our farm settlements to boost agricultural production and improve food security
– Basic amenities such as electricity, healthcare facilities, and clean water to improve the quality of life for our residents
By addressing these concerns, Governor Otti’s administration can demonstrate its commitment to inclusive governance and ensure that Ohuhu is not left behind in the development agenda for Abia State. The community believes that with the right policies and investments, Ohuhu can become a thriving hub of economic activity and a model for development in the region.
Signed ..
Iheanacho Uchenna Gavin
Ohuhu youth president.
