Chief Raymond Onyinyechi Ofoegbu, the founder and president Onyinye Ohuhu Foundation International, has called on ndi Ohuhu to take their destinies in their own hands by electing a trusted and capacity driven representative who will represent them in the Abia House of Assembly.
Chief Ofoegbu, said this while addressing ndi Ohuhu during an online interactive session with members of Ohuhu Decide 2023, he said it is not enough to sit back and call for development but that if people truly want development they should first of all prepare for it by electing leaders with passion, capacity, love for his people and hunger for delivery.
On zoning, he stated that the only zoning arrangement known to ndi Ohuhu is that of Umuhu and Okaiuga and with Okaiuga having completed their turn it is now the turn of Umuhu to take over, he advised every adult of voting age to go out and get their voters card ready since the president had signed the amended electoral act into law, it therefore implies that the power to elect our leaders is now in the hands of the electorates and the people can now elect their favourite leaders across all tiers of government.
He however advised politicians to work their way into the hearts of the people and not wait to be anointed by one godfather or positions microzoned to their door posts in order to gain undue advantage stating that those days are over and everyone who wants to represent ndi ohuhu will have to earn it legitimately and not through shortcuts.
Chief Ofoegbu, reinstated his earlier promise of using ICT and latest global technology and skills training to create millionaires in Ohuhu, if elected and also said that he will call for periodic town hall meetings where he will hold interactive sessions with women, youths and the men including socio-cultural organizations to discuss the developmental needs of the people so as to know where to channel constituency projects.
He called on all political parties in Ohuhu to allow a level playing ground so as to bring out a people oriented representative and not impose any one on the people, he ended by saying that for him it is not a do or die affair, but that the will of the people must be respected and allowed to suffice.
