Hon. Demian Igbokwe has expressed his deep sadness over the tragic accident that resulted in the loss of lives among passengers in a commercial vehicle traveling from Ohafia to Umuahia.
In a statement made available to the press, the Special Adviser to the Senate Minority Whip extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who died in this unfortunate incident. The accident, which occurred near Nmuri Bridge in Ebem Ohafia, Abia State, claimed the lives of six individuals and left three others injured.
Hon. Igbokwe stated that the Ohafias are his in-laws and have consistently expressed concern about the deplorable condition of that part of the road. He urged the government to take immediate action to repair this section of the road in order to prevent further loss of lives and property.
He also expressed his sympathy to the residents of Ohafia and the Abia State government during this difficult time and called on drivers and road users to exercise extreme caution while traveling, especially during the holiday season.
