The Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu has attributed his successes in life to the Grace of God upon his life.
The Deputy Speaker made this known at a Special Thanksgiving Mass and Handing Over of the CKC Church Hall built by the Abia State Number 2 Law Maker in fulfilment of his promise to God during the electioneering period.
Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu also thanked God for being there for his family and the entire people of Ohafia. He enjoined other well to do individuals to always identify with the things of God who is able to reward every good deed.
Continuing, the Deputy Speaker called for a minute silence for the Late Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Amaekpu Ohafia, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth whom he said anointed the land on which the Church Hall is built. He also thanked the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for his moral and financial support during the period of building the Church Hall and the Bishop of Umuahia Diocese of the Catholic Church, Bishop Ugorji for attending the Thanksgiving Mass in person instead of delegating that duty.
Performing the Church Dedication rites, the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia, His Lordship, Most Rev. Lucius I. Ugorji eulogized the Deputy Speaker for making himself a tool in the hands of God noting that his gesture towards the work of God will never go unrewarded.
Most Rev. Ugorji also charged others to take the love they have received from Christ to others in their families, places of work/businesses, the motherless and less privileged so as to be able to attract more from the creator.
Also Speaking, the Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Amaekpu Ohafia, Rev. Fr. Francis Onwunali (Ph.D) appreciated the Deputy Speaker for keeping to his promise of building for God and prayed for more open doors for the vibrant law maker.
According to the Deputy Governor, having served in the same House of Assembly he can authoritatively unequivocally say that the Deputy Speaker has done well. He noted that the Deputy Speaker has since elected about 7 years ago gone beyond his role as a law maker to deliver dividends of democracy to his people. He appreciated the law maker for having the heart to build for God as well as appreciated Bishop Ugorji for making out time to attend the Program and promised that those of them who are Catholics in various elective positions will continue to make him and the Church proud.
