Chief Uwaga, Donates Computers To Secondary Schools, Promises To Train Youths In ICT.

Chief Hope Uwaga, a Professional Fellow, Nigeria Computer Society has donated 5 desktop computers and accessories to Comprehensive Secondary School, Umuda Isingwu.

In a brief presentation ceremony made at the school premises on Friday 17th, December 2021, Chief Uwaga, said that he decided to donate and install the computers in the school in order to give the students in government schools the opportunity to study practical ICT and enhance their chances of obtaining modern ICT training as it is obtainable across the globe, he also said the training will not only be limited to students of the school but will be extended to youths across all the villages in Isingwu, the ICT expert announced that beginning from February 2022, that he will personally train 50 Isingwu youths in Website designing, Smart Home Automation, Computer Repairs and installation, CCTV Installation, Intercom Installation and solar system /inverter installation.

He decried the lack of basic IT skills among the youths in Ohuhu stating that in todays world any community without adequate knowledge and skill in IT is limited in development as we are in a world ruled by ideas generated mainly through ICT.

Receiving the computers, the principal of the school Lady Onuoha Paticia C, Thanked Chief Uwaga for his thoughtfulness and generosity noting that the computers will help the children and the teachers in practical computer training, he stated that most of the challenges they are facing in teaching the children are lack of ICT equipment but with these computers donated by Chief Uwaga, the teachers will be in good position to pass adequate and practical IT knowledge to the students, she also used the opportunity to thank him for the scholarship program he has been running for the past three years in the school which has seen many indigent students through school and has eased the burden of school fees off the shoulders of many parents in the school.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Umuda Youth president Mr Okechukwu Omereonyeogwu, used the opportunity to thank Chief Uwaga, who he said has carried the youths of Isingwu along in all his humanitarian program irrespective of party or village and also thanked him for providing financial assistance in their annual football competition and called on other well to do indigenes of isingwu to emulate the laudable initiatives of Chief Uwaga so as to give our youths brighter future.

Also speaking, the Vice President of Umuda Welfare Union, Chief Isreal Ekeleme, described Chief Uwaga as one whose interest is the development of his community and prayed God to give Umuda more selfless men like chief Uwaga.
