The leader of the party in Umuahia North and national delegate of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Moritz Abazie on Saturday tasked members of the Party to remain committed and resolute in their resolve to fix the party and make it stronger and more appealing to Abians.
Addressing Stakeholders and Umuahia North PDP executives in his Umuda Isingwu country home, Chief Abazie acknowledged that there is nothing unusual in a party losing an election, it is normal in every democracy and should not be a discouragement to members, He encouraged members not to lose faith but to work diligently to ensure the party secures victory in the next election. He emphasized that the path back to power lies in fostering collaboration and reinforcing the party’s presence while promoting a harmonious political environment free of sabotage among members.
Chief Abazie congratulated the attendees on the successful outcome of the recent congresses and advised them to identify the factors that contributed to the party’s last electoral defeat. He stressed the importance of discipline within the party and called on members to embody hard work, honesty, and patience in fulfilling their responsibilities.
During the meeting, the newly elected executives and other stakeholders engaged in productive discussions focused on strategies to strengthen party unity and address potential challenges, they thanked him for his efforts in ensuring that the party in Umuahia North is alive and strong and promised not to disappoint. In response, Chief Abazie committed to tackling some of these challenges to ensure the PDP remains strong in Umuahia North.
The meeting which was divided into two sessions had the Ohuhu Stakeholders in a unanimous decision declare Chief Abazie the Leader of the Ohuhu Stakeholders Forum.
The meeting was attended by all the newly elected party executives from the ward, local government area (LGA), and state from Umuahia North. It also included all the House of Assembly candidates from the last election, as well as the party’s candidates from the recent local government election. Additionally, stakeholders from Ibeku and Ohuhu were present.
