Arrangements for the inaugural colloquium of Barrister Ezeugo Kingston Chikwendu, scheduled to hold on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 is in top gear, the high-powered policy roundtable, with its theme: “CONVERSATION TOWARDS SOCIAL REBIRTH” will be held at the International Conference Center Umuahia.
The colloquium will feature as its Keynote Speaker Prof. Ngozi Nwosu, Dean faculty of education, Nasarawa State University with the topic “Building the framework for social inclusion and returning Nigeria to the path of prosperity”.
The Colloquium is part of events marking the 50th birthday of Barrister Chikwendu, other discussants include Barrister Kenneth Ikonne, Legal Practitioner/Public Affairs Analyst, Dr. Nuhu Habib, SSA to the President on Natural Resources and Petroleum and Executive Commissioner, Development and Production Dr. Mrs. Eleanor Nwadinobi, Consultant Specialist/Medical Doctor, Mr. Obinna Nwosu, Financial Expert/Public Affairs Analyst, Chief Enyinnaya E. Onokala Consultant/Businessman.
Justice Benjamin A Njemanze, Rtd. Chief Justice of Imo State is expected to chair the inaugural high-powered policy roundtable, while traditional rulers from across the state and beyond are expected to grace the occasion. the event is scheduled to start at 8.30 am with adequate security in place.
The colloquium will mark the 50th birthday of this highly successful lawyer and public servant who started his law practice in 1999 and currently serves as a Manager, Petroleum Industry Act Implementation and Quality Control in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
Prior to his current position, he had served as Manager and Deputy Legal Adviser of the defunct Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) Before Joining the DPR in 2003, he was the acting Company Secretary and Legal Adviser to Linkserve Limited, a foremost indigenous telecommunication company that pioneered the provision of internet services in Nigeria.
In his 18 years of active career with the DPR, he participated in multiple national and international assignments, membership in various national Committees and ad-hoc task forces, he participated in various international discourses such as Bilateral and multilateral Meetings between Nigeria and numerous other countries.
The Amaogwugwu, Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA, born lawyer, holds a master’s degree in Petroleum Law and Policy from the prestigious Centre for Energy Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) of the University of Dundee, Scotland as well as various certificates and Diplomas obtained from national and international training programs, seminars, and courses, he is a proud Alumni of Harvard University Executive Education.
Barr. Chikwendu had also served on the Legal Committee of the International Seabed Authority (ISA)
The event is expected to host eminent personalities including federal and state lawmakers, Speakers of State houses of Assembly, ministers of the federal republic, political leaders, and captains of industries, among others.
