BARR SUCCESS AKAGBURUONYE, a prominent APC stakeholder in IMO state and front line contender in the coming IMO Guber election has been nominated as the life patron of the United Igbo Elders council, worldwide.
The United Igbo Elders council worldwide is a very formidable pan Igbo organisation established for the socio political, economic and cultural advancement of the entire south East region.
The organisation enjoys the membership of over 85 percent of retired chief justices and other critical stakeholders in the south east region of Nigeria.
Presenting the letter of nomination to Akagburuonye during a church service at the ultra modern Noah’s Ark Church built and furnished Barr Akagburuonye in his native Uvuru community in Aboh Mbaise local government area of IMO state, His lordship, Bishop Justice Alpha Ikepama said he is excited to announce the nomination before the large congregation.
Justice Ikepama who is also the Director General of the United Igbo Elders council worldwide said he never knew Barr Akagburuonye as an individual before stating that the council was curious and interested to know him especially after his name filled the five slots of nominations given to Imo for membership of the council’s board.
Barr Ikepama who was accompanied five members of the council including Dr Maduka Atuenyi, the National Director of security affairs and Mazi Chetachukwu Okeke, one of the council’s youth leaders said they are very satisfied with the nomination of Barr Akagburuonye who they said has capacity and good followership from all indexes.
He added that His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi who just celebrated his 100 years birthday and 62 years on the throne was last month honoured as the Great Grand patron of the foundation emphasising that the council is certain from testimonies that Barr Akagburuonye will take the council to the next level.
By this development according to Justice Ikepama, Barr Akagburuonye will not only be a member of the board of trustees of the council but also the life patron of the Council which he said will be announced at his 60th birthday celebration next month.
Justice Ikepama also nominated Barr Akagburuonye as the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Igbo Think Home Investment and Development organisation,. popularly known as AKURUO ULO which he said has coincided with the recent Chieftaincy conferment on Barr Akagburuonye as AKURUO ULO of Mbaise the traditional ruler of Mbutu Nweorie autonomous community, HRH Eze Anthony Emeh.
He further described Barr Akagburuonye as a rare personality and global figure who has aligned to the IGBO THINK HOME initiative his conduct and legacies stating that the organisations owe him it’s 100 percent support at all times.
While responding, Barr Akagburuonye accepted the nominations and pledged to bring in his best to support the organisations adding that he was humbled the presence of the Judge at the church service.
